MAC Plumful

MAC Plumful is a muted purple/plum coloured lipstick with a lustre finish, which means its "Demi-sheer with wet-look lustre finish. Very slick. Makes lips look soft, smooth, ultra-moist." After seeing Estee from Essiebutton rave about this I knew I had to get it, I held back for a good couple of months but temptation got the better of me and I brought it (there's a shock) I don't have a lipstick like this in my collection and it's absolutely gorgeous! I feel that darker colours suit me better, corals and light pinks definitely do not suit my complexion,

I've been wearing this a lot since I got it, and I can see myself wearing this a lot more in the colder months, it's a very wearable colour even in the daytime. On me this lipstick wears for about 2-3 hours, fades evenly and doesn't cling to any dry patches because of the extremely creamy consistency, although because it's such a smooth creamy formula I to tend to worry about accidentally smudging it, although it hasn't happened yet.
I'm usually more of a matte lipstick kind of girl but I was instantly drawn to this colour, and how it makes your lips look plump and moisturised!

I have a few other mac lipsticks in mind which I would like to buy, but what's your favorite?

Welcoming a new member to the family

Meet baby Rio, another bundle of joy added to my little pack of chihuahuas! He was born on the 30th may and is 12 week's old. I have three other chihuahuas, Ami, Badger and Peppa, we have a cute little family going on as Ami and badger are the parents of peppa! my family have loved chihuahuas since the day I got Anna, and older female chihuahua who sadly passed away a few years ago due to kidney failure, she was the most loyal loving dog you could ever want.
A lot of people give chihuahuas bad names, saying they're snappy little lap dogs, and in some cases that's true, but all of my dogs are extremely well natured and my vet loves and rambles on about them all the time saying how lovely they are! like any breed of dog, it's about how they nurture and train them... but yes, it's true they are complete lap dogs and love nothing more than to cuddle up with you in bed, which I like!
So currently standing in my pack of chihuahuas, we have two boys and two girls, my original three are getting on fantastically with little rio at the moment and we've only had him for 6 days!
I'm trying to get a picture of all four of them together, but it's proving difficult because the little one won't sit still and they're scattered all around the place!
We took him to the vet and he currently weighs 1.3kg and he's going back in two weeks time to have his other injections and to be chipped! he's a feisty little playful thing that loves to snuggle into your neck at night, my whole family has fallen in love with him!

Review | Maybelline babylips

Left to right: Pink punch, Peach kiss, Cherry meSo as i'm sure you all know, the ever so hyped up maybelline babylips hit the UK at the end of july, how exciting! As a lip balm and lipstick junkie as soon as I got my little boots email come through on the day they were released I demanded that Aaron ordered three for me as I was at work, the three I chose are Pink punch, Cherry me and Peach kiss, they all smell gorgeous, to me pink punch smells like tutti fruity sweets or starburst, and cherry me and peach kiss obviously smell as their name states. all three give a sheer wash of colour over your lips which I personally love wearing everyday and at work, I think that these will be a great lip product for people just starting out with makeup and they're not highly pigmented, bold colours. They retail at only £2.99 each, which I think is an absolute bargain when you're getting moisturised colourful lips. On my lips Cherry me comes out more of a hot pink colour rather than red, which I prefer anyway, Peach kiss comes out as a beautiful nude colour which is perfect for everyday, and it also doesn't make me look ill where it's too pale, and finally and my least favorite of the bunch is Pink punch, although it smells amazing I can't get this to work for me, it's too pale for my liking and doesn't look right on my highly pigmented lips. When I heard that maybelline baby lips were becoming available in the UK I had my heart set on the watermelon shade, which they sadly haven't released here so i'm hoping that they're going to release more shades in the future, as I will definitely be purchasing a few more.

Vaseline spray and go moisturiser

This is a lazy persons dream come true, if you're like me and really can't be bothered applying moisturiser every night, then this is for you. In the summer when the nights are hotter, I can't stand applying moisturiser because it just leaves me feeling tacky and gross... but all that changed when I found the vaseline spray and go moisturiser, I like to apply this after jumping out of the shower, I literally spray it all over my body then rub it in and you're done, simple as that! it takes about a minute in total to spray it all over and rub in. what I really love about this is product is that it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy, it's very hydrating without having a thick consistency. The spray is a very fine mist which is actually really refreshing when it's hot outside, and the cocoa butter scent is amazing, if you have tried any of the other vaseline cocoa butter product then it smells exactly like that and it lingers on the skin, beaaaaautiful! Even though I don't need to buy any more moisturisers because my collection is a bit out of control, I will be buying this again because let's face it, i'm lazy and this is the easy solution to moisturising!

My top 5 lipsticks

I used to be the kind of person who associated lipstick with old ladies, I never thought of it as a youthful thing until I got into the weird and wonderful world of youtube and blog reading, and now lipsticks are slowly taking over my makeup collection

1. Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in lovesick
I get so many compliments when I wear this, it's a beautiful hot pink colour which is very wearable in my opinion, at first it has a slight glossy finish and is quite creamy, which then dries into a stain which may I add can be a pain to get off, I've had to wear this two days in a row before because I woke up after a night out and still had stained pink lips.

2. NYX Soft matte lip cream in San paulo
I have been rambling on about this soft matte lip cream since the day I got it, it's the prettiest, most wearable warm pink lip product I own, I feel that it suits my skin tone lovely and it's extremely long lasting, the matte finish isn't uncomfortable or powdery looking

3. MAC shy girl
Shy girl is a cremesheen formula and my nude of choice, it's a beautiful peachy nude colour, I chose this because light pinks don't suit me so I wanted something with a warmer tone to it. on me this lasts around 3 hours and it's very comfortable to wear, also mac lipsticks smell like vanilla, who wouldn't love that?

4. MAC RiRi Woo
As you can probably tell from my list, I'm a matte lipstick kind of girl, RiRi woo is a blue toned red from the Rhianna for MAC collection, because of the matte formula it's very long lasting and the blue undertones make your teeth look really white!

5. Rimmel Kate lipstick in 107
Yet another matte lipstick? yes... i'm afraid so! this is a deep berry toned red which is perfect for the autumn/winter months, I'm definitely looking forward to wearing this again, even though I have worn it  a few times throughout summer i'll get more wear out of it in autumn!

Review | La roche-posay effaclar mat

I tend to get an oily t-zone and often find that my makeup slides off the tip of my nose and chin by the end of the day, I thought this was due to my day moisturisers being too thick for my skin during the day so I decided to change it up and brought the la roche-posay effaclar mat because this product is aimed at people who have oily and spot prone skin. la roche-posay say that this product will keep oily skin is moisturised and the mattifying properties help to control shine all day, and your skin will feel smoother.
I have noticed that my t-zone has been less oily during the day since using this product and it sinks into the skin effortlessly, so you're not sitting around for 10 minutes to apply your makeup afterwards, I like the fact that it doesn't feel thick or heavy on my face which is a plus considering I hate that tacky feeling some moisturisers can leave behind.
I have changed a couple of products up in my skincare routine in the last couple of months, I have added in this and the trilogy certified organic rosehip oil and I haven't had a single breakout on my face since using them, I definitely feel that the effaclar mat has something to do with that as the products from the effaclar range claim that with Daily care, helps to limit the appearance of pores and shine by reducing excess sebum, and yes I have noticed a dramatic difference in the size of my pores, they're much smaller now and i'm finding that my skin is less oily, I have used other products from the effaclar range and this is my favorite by far, I'm in love with this product and I will continue to repurchase it.

What's your favorite la roche-posay product?

Review | Trilogy certified organic rosehip oil

A couple of months back I was searching the internet for a product that will help reduce some scarring on my face, and one of the products that kept popping up that the Trilogy certified organic rosehip oil.
the brand trilogy claims that the Certified Organic Rosehip Oil helps improve the appearance of scars, stretchmarks, fine lines and wrinkles. I ordered a 20ml bottle for £13.72 off amazon, a bit expensive for such a little amount of product, but I can say now that it's worth the money. for a start I love the packaging, instead of a pump you dispense the product from a pipette which is easy to control and you don't end up wasting the product.

since using this product I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin, my scarring is less visible and my skin tone is more even. I always noticed I had slight wrinkles under my eyes, which for someone who's only 19 obviously wasn't something I wanted, i've noticed that they've reduced slightly since using the rosehip oil and less concealer creases into my "wrinkles". I have become more confident in my skin since using this product and I don't feel as if I have to use a full coverage foundation anymore, but I don't feel as if this hydrates my skin as much as other people claim it does, and the product doesn't smell too great either, but that isn't a big issue for me as the smell disappears once it's been massaged into the skin.

do you use any skincare oils?

Review | EOS lip balms

EOS claim that their lip balms are "95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth" I don't drink enough water throughout the day and often find that my lips are dry and dehydrated but since using these lip balms, I have noticed that my lips have been smooth and plump, and it lasts for a long time on the lips without that annoying sticky residue which just leads to you licking it off. EOS is now available in the UK but you can order them off places such as the Selfridges websites and ebay/amazon, these are the only UK places which I have seen that stock EOS, I have a brother who lives in canada and I asked him to bring me one over when he visited because I didn't know they were becoming more available in the UK, instead of bringing me one, brought me three! he gave me the flavours sweet mint, strawberry sorbet and honeysuckle honeydew, I have been using the sweet mint flavour because firstly, the packaging is a beautiful mint green colour and it smells gorgeous! how could I resist it? I have been using sweet mint constantly lately and it doesn't look like it's going to run out anytime soon, I will definitely repurchase some once I have finally managed to make my way through the three I already have. I'm a lip balm junkie, and have way too many but these have found a special little place in my lip balm loving heart. I'm also planning a trip to canada in two years so I will have the opportunity to pick some up there as well.
